A bit of history / Satellite pioneers A frontrunner of satellite communications, Vizada Networks draws on more than forty years’ experience in everything from satellites to teleports and from basic connectivity services to valued added solutions. We started in business when the first commercial communications satellite, Early Bird, was launched in 1965. Originally part of Norwegian operator Telenor, we became in the mid-seventies the first to use satellites for domestic use, connecting Svalbard to the mainland, as well as the many offshore rigs in the North Sea. Separated from Telenor and merged with Taide and France Telecom’s former satellite division, the group became the global leader in satellite communication services. The company changed its name to Vizada in 2007. Local expertise, global coverage Vizada Networks now operates out of offices in Oslo, Holmestrand (Norway), Hoofddorp (Netherlands), Bratislava, Prague and Dar Es Salaam, as well as through local partners in African and The Middle East and Asia markets.
